This classic herringbone pattern, shown here in Avocado dates back to the Roman period through the Middle Ages. The eye is drawn to the wide part of the "V" in the herringbone, and the pattern conjures an optical illusion that feels like a larger area.

You will learn several simple techniques like the jellyroll, checkerboard, stripes, and bullseye. We will incorporate these techniques into more detailed designs to make flowers, stars, butterflies and more! I will supply the clay, pre-conditioned and pre-mixed, so we can learn a lot in one night. You will also learn some color mixing techniques and secrets. At the end of the class you’ll have beautiful canes to make into beads, buttons, magnets, or use to cover objects. No previous polymer clay experience needed but this class is a great step up from the intro class if you have already taken that.
